Professor Noel Scott, Ph.D

He is an internationally recognized academic and a leading expert in tourism, hospitality, and destination management. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Tourism Management at the Griffith Institute for Tourism, Griffith University, and at the Sustainable Research Centre, University of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. He holds a Ph.D. in Tourism Management from the University of Queensland, an MBA from Griffith University, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne. Prof. Scott is widely known for his contributions to global tourism knowledge, particularly through his research on tourist experience, destination branding, destination management and marketing, sustainable tourism development, innovation strategy, and community development. He has held Visiting Professor appointments at various universities across Asia, including in Indonesia, Malaysia, and China, and has acted as an advisor and research collaborator on numerous international projects related to sustainable tourism development. As one of the early international supporters of ADPI, he has played a vital role in fostering academic collaboration between Indonesia and Australia through research, training, and community engagement programs. Prof. Scott is the author of more than 300 scholarly publications, including 17 books, journal articles, and international conference proceedings, has supervised 30 doctoral students to successful completion, serves on the editorial board of 10 journals, is a member of the International Association of China Tourism Scholars, and is a Fellow of the Council for Australasian Tourism and Hospitality Education. He is a frequent keynote speaker at international academic and industry conferences across Asia, Europe, and Australia. Prior to his academic career beginning in 2001, Dr. Scott worked as a senior manager in several businesses, including as Manager of Research and Strategic Services at Tourism and Events Queensland.

He is currently serves as the Deputy Director (Research & Networks) of the Pusat Kanser Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (PKTAAB), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and also the Principal Investigator at the Department of Biomedical Sciences at AMDI, USM. Prof Dr. Badrul is also the Head of Breast Cancer Translational Research Program at AMDI (BCTRP) and a former Director of the Animal Research and Service Centre (ARASC) at Universiti Sains Malaysia. Prof Dr. Badrul's educational journey includes obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Genetics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2002, followed by a Master of Science in Human Genetics from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2006. His academic pursuits took him to the Roslin Institute and Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, where he completed his Ph.D. degree in the field of regenerative medicine focusing on lung regeneration and repair. In the realm of professional associations, Prof Dr. Badrul is an active member of various national and international societies. His expertise in stem cell and regenerative medicine has led to numerous invitations from both local and international organizations to present his groundbreaking research findings at global scientific gatherings. He plays an integral role in the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society of Malaysia (TESMA) where he served as the Vice President and Exco member. Currently, he serves as the Vice President of the Malaysian Society for Stem Cell Research and Therapy (MSCRT). Additionally, Prof Dr. Badrul currently holds the position of Visiting Professor at Xinxiang Medical University (XXMU) in Henan Province, China. He plays a pivotal role in international collaborations, serving as the coordinator for research and academic initiatives with Xinxiang Medical University, China; Mahidol University, Thailand; and Universitas Padjadjaran, Bandung, Indonesia. Currently Prof Dr. Badrul serves as Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Asosiasi Dosen Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Indonesia (ADPI) (Malaysia Chapter). In the realm of scholarly publications and editorial responsibilities, Prof Dr. Badrul is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (JBCS), published by AMDI USM. He also serves as an Editor for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine (Springer-Nature) and Series Editor for Tissue Engineering - Part A. His editorial contributions extend to other esteemed journals, including Scientific Research (Springer-Nature), Discover Oncology (Springer-Nature), Biomedical Research and Therapy (BMRAT) in Vietnam, Majalah Kedokteran Bandung, The Global Medical and Health Communication (GMHC) journal in Bandung, and Stem Cells in Clinical Applications (Springer-Nature). With a passionate focus on stem cell and regenerative medicine, Prof Dr. Badrul has secured research grants from various funding bodies, including Universiti Sains Malaysia, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) of Malaysia, the National Institute of Health/Ministry of Health (NIH/MOH) in Malaysia, and the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia, among others. He has also received international grants, such as those from the Nippon Sheet Grant Foundation (NSGF) and funding from Henan Province, China, as well as industry matching grants, notably from Cryocord Sdn Bhd, to advance research in various facets of stem cell and regenerative medicine. Prof Dr. Badrul's remarkable contributions to the field are reflected in his extensive publication record, which includes over 95 articles in various indexed journals and chapters in books related to stem cell research, cell therapy, tissue engineering, cancer stem cells, and disease modelling. He has also played a pivotal role in postgraduate education, supervising more than 33 postgraduate students, with 26 of them successfully completing their studies under his guidance, focusing on various aspects of research related to stem cell and regenerative medicine.

He is a Visiting Professor of Marketing at Suffolk Business School, Faculty of Arts, Business and Applied Social Science, University of Suffolk, Ipswich, England, UK, and at The Marketing School, Portugal and Adjunct Professor of Marketing, GSB, FBE, University of the South Pacific, Suva, Fiji. During 2015 - 2017 he was professor of BioMarketing and Futures Research at the DCU Business School, Dublin City University, Ireland. This was the first Chair in the world on both domains - BioMarketing and Futures Research. Previously, and for 20 years, he had been appointed as the Foundation Chair of Marketing at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, Scotland. He has been a Full Professor for 32 years and has held Visiting Professorship positions at numerous universities worldwide. He is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Modelling in Management (JM2) and Co-editor-in-Chief of the Innovative Marketing Journal. His main areas of research interest encompass marketing, management and tourism futurecast, artificial intelligence, biometrics and neuroscience in marketing, evolutionary algorithms, human-computer interaction, the use of artificial neural networks in marketing, modelling processes of consumer behaviour, futures research. Prof. Moutinho has given keynote speeches, lectures, seminars, talks, etc. in 46 countries worldwide. Prof. Moutinho has 36 books published, over 158 articles published in refereed academic journals. He has 15,580 academic citations, the h-index of 58 and the i10-index of 154 (Google Scholar , March , 2023).

(Public Health Administration), B.Art. (Information & Technology), B.Art. (Production & Management), B.Art. (Thai Studies), and an English Certificate for Healthcare Providers. He holds two master's degrees in science, one in oral medicine from Mahidol University (3.67/4) and another in management from Assumption University (3.73/4), Thailand. In 2010, Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University awarded him a PhD in educational administration with a scholarship based on his excellent score (4/4). He has been a lecturer in education at Bangkokthonburi University, Thailand, since 2011. He is graduated from the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) with a Bachelor Science of Environmental and Occupational Health degree in 2003, and Master of Environmental Management (2006) and Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Sciences (2011) from the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom. Her main research area is on environmental health modeling and waste management. She has won the Gold Medal in the 3rd International Invention Innovation Competition in Toronto, Canada, (iCAN 2018) and the Silver Medal in the 5th Korea Creative Invention Contest, (CiC 2018) for her innovation in the interactive household waste separation system. She spent her sabbatical leave in 2018, assisting the National Solid Waste Department of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, Putrajaya in modeling the environmental health impact of the Pay as You Throw policy in the waste management system of the country. She has also been involved in the amendment of the National Solid Waste Management (SWM) Policy and the strategic plan. She is currently the President of the Environmental and Occupational Health Society (EOHS), a non-profit organization (NGO’s) that is actively involved in community work to increase public awareness about environmental and occupational health. The recent community project with this NGO was the Malaysian Youth Upcycle Challenge (MyYUC) 2020 works as a platform in cultivating the awareness about waste management and innovation spirit among the youth

Dr. Rafeah Wahi is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). She currently serves as the Director of the University Sustainability Centre (USC), UNIMAS, and is a Mentor at Qadim Hub, a UNESCO Knowledge for Change (K4C) Hub. She is a Certified Mentor in Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) accredited by the UNESCO Chair in Community-Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education, and a Certified Trainer under the Malaysian Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp). With over 20 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership, her expertise spans environmental engineering, waste utilisation technologies, circular economy approaches, and waste management education. Her scholarly and professional work strongly integrates sustainability science with community engagement, particularly through service learning and CBPR frameworks. Dr. Rafeah is widely recognised for her commitment to transformative community-based education and research, where communities are positioned as co-creators of knowledge rather than passive beneficiaries. She has extensive experience in designing and implementing service-learning curricula, alternative assessment strategies, and community–university–industry partnerships, particularly in the areas of waste management, environmental sustainability, and rural empowerment. At the national level, she actively contributes to higher education policy and implementation as a member of the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) Service Learning Malaysia – University for Society (SULAM) Strategic Committee and the Experiential Learning and Competency-Based Education (EXCEL) Initiative Strategic Committee. Through these roles, she supports the institutionalisation of experiential learning, values-based education, and socially responsible research within Malaysian higher education. Her work reflects a strong commitment to sustainability leadership, capacity building, and long-term social impact, bridging academic rigor with real-world community transformation.

Assoc. Prof Dr Sawirman, M.Hum

He is a lecturer of linguistics and cultural studies at the English Department, Postgraduate of Linguistics, and Postgraduate of Cultural Studies at the Humanities Faculty of Universitas Andalas. Based on his research, he was awarded by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Indonesia, in 2012 as the Best Researcher for the scheme of Competitive Grants. Universitas Andalas also awarded him in 2015. 2011, 2009, and 2008 for his achievements in research, teaching, and community services. His writing on language, tourism, and traditional art to develop tourism in West Sumatra, Indonesia, including the menhir (prehistoric Stonehenge of West Sumatra) in 50 Kota prefecture, was awarded the best writing 2008 by the Tourism Department of West Sumatra, Indonesia. The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Poland also gave him an award for his services in teaching Bahasa and Indonesian culture in Indonesian Embassy, Poland on January 29, 2015. During 2014-2015, he was also assigned as the guest lecturer by the ministry of education and culture, Indonesia, at three universities in Poland: the University of Warsaw, Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, and the Uniwersytet Mikoaja Kopernika (University of Nicolaus Copernicus), in Torun.
Dr. Haruna Abubakar Haruna

He is an academic and education practitioner who currently serves as an education officer at the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) of Jigawa State, Nigeria, with 14 years of teaching experience under the Kafin-Hausa Local Education Authority. He is also a faculty member at Université Africaine Franco-Arabe, Bamako, Mali, and US Interglobal University, Somalia. In addition, Dr. Haruna holds several leadership positions, including Director of Partnerships and Consultancy Services at the Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management, Nigeria; Director of Hybrid Entrepreneurial Initiatives, Nigeria; Jigawa State Coordinator of the HAAN Foundation; and Director of Inter-Corporate Affairs at HK Alyateemayn Group Ventures, and he previously served as Jigawa State Coordinator of the Chartered Institute of Customer Relationship Management, Nigeria, from 2013 to 2017. He is widely recognized as an international keynote speaker, plenary speaker, and global resource person, having delivered lectures and presentations in numerous countries, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Oman, India, Algeria, Thailand, Palestine, Iraq, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Egypt, and he also serves as the Commissioner General for Asian and African Countries at New Life Open University, Kingdom of Sweden. His educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language Education, Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Arabic Literature, and a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomatic Studies obtained in Sudan. Dr. Haruna has participated in more than 265 international seminars and workshops and has published numerous scholarly articles in international journals. Academically, he is actively involved as a member and editor of several international journals in Indonesia and Algeria, a reviewer for national and international journals, and a committee member and reviewer for various international conferences. He is also a professional member of several international organizations in Italy, India, Iraq, and Nigeria. In recognition of his dedication and contributions, Dr. Haruna has received numerous international certificates and academic awards from more than seven global organizations, including the WAK Book of Records International and the IEA Book of World Records, as well as several prestigious awards in the fields of education and sustainable development.
Ts. Dr. Mohamad Halim bin Mohamad Shariff

He is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Penang Branch – Bertam Campus, Malaysia. He holds a PhD in Medical Biochemistry, a Master’s degree in Health Toxicology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. He is a registered Professional Technologist with the Malaysia Board of Technologists and a Fellow in Addiction Medicine (Universiti Malaya Centre for Addiction Science Studies), reflecting his strong academic, professional, and clinical-research credentials. His academic expertise lies in neuroscience, neurodegeneration, obesity, drug addiction and substance abuse, natural product development, and translational biomedical research. His research focuses on elucidating molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying Alzheimer’s disease, brain ageing, and substance dependence, with particular emphasis on oxidative stress, neuroinflammation and behavioural neuroscience using validated animal models. His work integrates molecular biology, biochemistry, toxicology, behavioural assessment, and in silico approaches to generate mechanistic and translational insights. Ts. Dr. Mohamad Halim has held multiple academic leadership and governance roles, including Postgraduate Coordinator, Corporate Committee Member, Manager at the Research Management Centre, Deputy Dean, Head of Research Group (Aging), Industry Liaison Officer, and Internal Auditor for Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) compliance. These roles demonstrate his sustained involvement in academic development, research governance, quality assurance, and institutional leadership. He has extensive experience in postgraduate supervision, having successfully supervised numerous Master’s and PhD students as main and co-supervisor, with several completions and ongoing supervision at UiTM. His mentorship spans neuroscience, addiction biology, medical biochemistry, toxicology, and biomedical sciences, contributing to the development of skilled and research-ready graduates. An active and well-funded researcher, Ts. Dr. Mohamad Halim has led and participated in a wide range of national and institutional research projects supported by MOSTI (RMKe-12), FRGS-EC (Ministry of Higher Education) and internal grant. His projects cover neuroprotective natural compounds, addiction management strategies, drug prevention education modules, neuroplasticity in brain ageing, IoT-enabled drug detection systems, and translational toxicology, with cumulative research funding exceeding RM500,000. He has published extensively in reputable peer-reviewed journals indexed in Web of Science, Scopus, and MyCite, contributing original research articles, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses in neuroscience, addiction medicine, oxidative stress biology, obesity research, and natural product pharmacology. His scholarly output reflects a strong commitment to evidence-based science and translational relevance. Beyond research and teaching, Ts. Dr. Mohamad Halim is actively engaged in international academic service. He regularly serves as a keynote and invited speaker, visiting lecturer, journal reviewer (Web of Science and Scopus), manuscript assessor, external examiner, scientific committee member, and innovation jury member for national and international conferences, exhibitions, and competitions. He is also highly active in innovation and commercialisation. He is the inventor and co-inventor of multiple patented and copyrighted products and modules, including the DSPEM Module, D-TASH spray, Nuzadone, and IoT-enabled biomedical detection systems. His innovations have received numerous national and international awards, including gold, silver, bronze, and platinum recognitions at prestigious invention and innovation platforms. His contributions to academia, innovation, and leadership have been recognised through multiple national and international awards, including best presenter awards, innovation excellence awards, academic leadership recognitions, and national-level nominations. He is an active member of professional and academic bodies, including the Malaysian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and serves on advisory and trustee boards at national and international levels. Ts. Dr. Mohamad Halim actively welcomes interdisciplinary collaboration, international research partnerships, postgraduate supervision, and innovation-driven projects.
