Sosialisasi Pengetahuan Dasar Kebencanaan untuk Anak Usia Sekolah Dasar di Kota Padang

Abstract

West Sumatra Province is located in a disaster-prone area such as floods, landslides, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, forest and land fires, social conflicts, and others. The disaster has provided many lessons for the Indonesian people where many lives and property were lost. The cause is the lack of capacity and knowledge about the disaster and how to reduce the level of risk. The implementation of this community service activity aims to increase basic knowledge of disasters for elemntary school-students and to know the implementation of disaster insight in schools. The implementation method is to hold socialization with explanations of materials and games as an alternative offer for seminar participants in teaching and learning activities. The results of the implementation of the activity are that students can try and practice disaster prevention measures directly after receiving materials of disaster prevention and simulations. The expected output is increased knowledge and readiness in facing the possibility of disasters, so as to reduce the impact and consequences of the disaster.
