Edukasi Pencegahan Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 pada Masyarakat

Type 2 diabetes is a chronic metabolic disease that results from the interaction of various factors. Indonesia is one of the countries with a large prevalence of diabetes. There are various risk factors that affect type 2 DM, both uncontrollable risk factors (such as genetics), and controllable risk factors (such as lifestyle). The purpose of this activity is for the community to understand, know, and be able to recognize type 2 DM disease as early as possible, and can proactively promote prevention and management activities for type 2 DM. The method of this community service activity is carried out by counseling, which is divided into preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The community showed enthusiasm and increased knowledge related to the material presented. The health center officials and the community of Puskesmas Gandus Palembang highly welcomed and supported this activity. Service activities and cooperation with partners are expected to be sustainable so as to have a good impact in the Puskesmas Gandus Palembang area.
