The increasing accumulation of plastic waste poses significant environmental challenges, necessitating effective waste management strategies. The socialization of plastic and non-plastic waste separation in Dusun Parang, Sukorejo, East Java, is presented as an initial step towards environmental sustainability. The primary objective of this initiative is to raise awareness and educate the community about the importance of proper waste separation to enhance recycling efforts and reduce environmental impact. A participatory approach was employed, involving workshops and interactive sessions to engage community members actively. The methods included practical demonstrations, educational materials, and collaborative discussions to foster understanding and implementation of waste separation practices. The results indicate a positive shift in community attitudes towards waste management, with increased participation in separation activities and a heightened commitment to environmental sustainability. This initiative serves as a foundational effort to promote long-term environmental stewardship and sustainable waste management practices in the region.
