Pregnancy is the greatest gift to any family. The gestation period is crucial to the quality of human resources in future, as the development of a child is determined largely by its conditions during the fetal period in the womb. Chronic lack of energy (singkatan nye dlm bahasa inggris juak daan tau wln), anemia and iodine deficiency are frequent dietary problems faced by pregnant women. The incidence of anemia in pregnant women in Indonesia still high rates at 48.9%. Studies have shown that anemia in pregnancy is associated with morbidity and mortality to the mothers. In order to increase public knowledge of maternal and child health, creating health enlightenment can be necessarry to implement. One of the efforts that can be implemented to increase maternal knowledge regard to nutrition and complications is through educational activities outside the schedule of examining / classes for pregnant women. The results of pre and post tests already taken can be concluded that the increase in maternal knowledge and understanding of pregnant women aboute dietary disorders and complications in pregnancy is 23.6%. This shows an increasement in knowledge before and after being given enlightenment.
