Assessing the Impact of Multimodal Transportation Education on Experienced Personnel

This study investigates the efficacy of multimodal transportation education in enhancing the skills and competencies of 40 veteran cadets in transportation engineering. Through qualitative research methods, including interviews and document analysis, the study explores participants' perceptions of the education programme and its impact on their knowledge and practical capabilities. Findings reveal positive perceptions of the programme's comprehensive curriculum, practical relevance, and alignment with industry standards. Participants reported improvements in their understanding of multimodal transportation systems, problem-solving abilities, regulatory knowledge, and risk management skills. However, recommendations for improvement include incorporating more hands-on learning opportunities, fostering closer collaboration with industry partners, and integrating soft skills development. Overall, this research contributes to the existing literature by providing empirical evidence of the effectiveness of multimodal transportation education in upskilling experienced personnel and offers insights for enhancing the quality and relevance of transportation education programmes.
