Cirebon (UIBBC) identified local potential. They involved 5th-grade children of SDN 1 Tegalsari in performing a theatre that tells the folklore of “Malin Kundang.” We were using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. This activity strengthens children's self-confidence, enhances creativity, and enriches their knowledge of culture and moral values. The creative process involved children in every stage, from casting to staging, and utilized local resources and recycled materials for theatre props. The activity results showed significant improvements in the self-confidence, communication skills, and teamwork of the elementary school children involved. The theatre strengthened community ties and exemplified good, sustainable child character development practices.
